David Alsina, bandoneon player, composer, arranger, and director of tango bands and
chamber music groups; native of Buenos Aires, started performing at the age of eight;
composed over 100 original songs, and the score for five independent films.
David has been performing with the Miami City Ballet as bandoneon soloist with
symphonic and philharmonic orchestras for more than 10 years.
He is one of the favorites to play Piazzolla's music, such as the opera Maria de Buenos
Aires, Five Tango Sensations, and other pieces for bandoneon and orchestra.
He has performed in Europe, South and North America, and currently resides in the
United States.
David has contributed bandoneon solos to the recording of TV spots and videos,
soundtrack of movies "Random Hearts" and "Estados", and a large number of CDs.
He has collaborated with Ricky Martin, Shakira, Gloria Estefan, Julio Iglesias,
Juan Luis Guerra, Calle 13, Olga Tañón, José Luis Rodríguez, Daniela Romo,
El Consorcio (Mocedades), Luis Enrique, Huey Dunbar, Il Divo and many others.
With the show "Tango Buenos Aires" he has traveled around the world. The music of his
bandoneon has been acclaimed in concert halls such as Carnegie Hall, Brooklyn Center,
(New York); Gusman Center, Dade County Auditorium, Jackie Gleason, Philharmonic
Center, Bailey Concert Hall, (Florida); Orange County Center (California); University of
Georgia; Ohio University; University of North Carolina; and many others.
